A political analyst Dr. Rufus Agu has analyzed the Imo State gubernatorial race and has come to a conclusion that Rt.Hon. Emeka Ihedioha will win the elections based on his numerous achievements as a distinguished legislator and a track record of consistency and forthrightness. He also noted that among all the major contestants Emeka Ihedioha is the only one who hasn’t decamped to any political party from inception till date. Showing that he is a consistent fellow who can be trusted to maintain a focused government that will not engage in unhealthy policy somersault which is characteristic of Okorocha’s administration. He also posited that Emeka Ihedioha is the only one among these major contestants who doesn’t have any corruption case hanging on his neck. He said that other major contestants all have several corruption cases and allegations hanging on their heads like the proverbial sword of Damocles. He observed that the incumbent Governor, Rochas Okorocha, his son-in-law Uche Nwosu, Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume and Sen. Hope Uzodinma are all birds of the same feathers who belong to the same political cabal. Hear him: ” Ararume,Uzodinma, Okorocha and his son-in-law are all birds of the same feathers. The belong to the same political family. We were all here when during the 2015 guber elections Uzodinma delivered Orlu zone for Rochas while Ararume delivered Okigwe zone. It was also alleged that Uche Nwosu masterminded the rigging of that election. Imolites also know that these men shared the loot together. Uche Nwosu as Commissioner for Lands supervised the sharing of government land of which Ararume got part of Shell camp quarters and other plum property in New Owerri. Hope Uzodinma also got several landed properties from the State. These men all shared the loot together. They only fell apart when Rochas decided to handover to his son-in-law instead of either of them. So I think it will be foolish of any reasonable Imolite to cast votes for any of these men. a vote for one is a vote for all. When any of them eventually wins, they will reconcile and continue to share our patrimony amongst themselves”, he said.
Dr. Rufus Agu
He went on to say, ” I don’t know why Imo people are even considering Ararume, Uzodinma, Okorocha or Nwosu at all. These men lack integrity and focus. They all have one corrupt case or allegations hanging on their head like the sword of Damocles. It was alleged that Uche Nwosu embezzled over N5B Bailout fund meant for payment of salaries and pensions of retired old senior citizens. Can such heartless person be trusted with our Treasury again? What of Ararume that was alleged to have embezzled over N40B given to him to lobby senators by Obasanjo or is it Hope Uzodinma who was declared wanted by EFCC/ICPC for failure to execute multimillion dollar NPA contract even after collecting upfront? So you see all these men lack the rectitude to serve as leaders. Emeka Ihedioha doesn’t have any corruption case to answer. He has been in one party from on set till today showing he is not a political prostitute who is in politics to grab what he can for his generations unborn. Rochas has gallivanted through numerous political parties, same with his son-in-law Uche Nwosu and his acolytes Ararume and Uzodinma. So what is the bases for comparing these men with Emeka Ihedioha”?, he said.
Asked to comment on the outcome of the presidential elections he said, “…the presidential election is already won and lost. Due to the very poor performance of the APC government at all levels, President Buhari will lose woefully. I see the core North giving Buhari 45% votes with Atiku winning 55%. In the Middle-belt Atiku will win with a landslide of 70% votes to 30%. In the Southwest the result will be different this time around as the factors that enabled APC win 51% of votes there in the 2015 elections is no longer there. Now Atiku will win 55% of votes in the Southwest with Buhari managing just 45%. Coming down to the Southsouth and Southeast Buhari won’t get more than 5% of votes. So you see that the President is already on his way back to Daura.
