The Police in Imo State has impounded two long trailers that were reportedly sent by the immediate ex-governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to cart away property suspected to be stolen property belonging to the Government of Imo State.
In a statement by security officials, the trailers were impounded in a dramatic way at the same warehouse on Aba Road, Owerri, where Mrs Uloma Rochas Nwosu, first daughter of the ex-governor was prevented from carting property few weeks ago.
The statement read thus:
“Two trailers despatched by Rochas to evacuate property from the Warehouse on Aba Road , Owerri, where his daughter had earlier been prevented by the Recovery Team from carting away looted Government property, have been impounded by the Police.
“Following a tip-off last night (29/9/19), that the two trailers had moved into the warehouse late in the night, a police team was despatched to the premises . Those inside the premises surprisingly, refused to open the gate.
The police team therefore cordoned off the building till this morning (30/9/19) when it stormed the premises. The two trailers were impounded and 12 arrests made.”
